Thank you for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Education of the Long Beach Unified School District! In July 2018, my second term will end. I will not run for another term. Serving on the board and representing our community is one of the most rewarding experiences of my educational career.
I particularly want to thank Superintendent Chris Steinhauser and the members of the board with whom I’ve had the privilege to serve – Diana Craighead, Megan Kerr, Jon Meyer, Dr. Felton Williams, as well as previous board members David Barton and Mary Stanton. All are consummate professionals.
Finally, our teachers, administrators and staff are extraordinary in their commitment to our students and their families. They are the reason Long Beach Unified is one of the best and most highly acclaimed school districts in the nation. It’s been an honor working with all of you! Thank you!
